Carl Lindberg
Carl is the founder, producer and director of Grogus, and plays upright bass, congas, percussion, guitar, and vocals as well as composer. Current and former bands include: Squat, Kenosha Kid, Steve Dancz, Carl Lindberg Quartet, Kevin Hyde Quartet, Hyde-Lindberg-Patton Trio, Dubconscious, Trey Wright Trio, Joel Byron and Carl Lindberg, Herb & Skills, Reason:Biodynamics, Earth Collective, Moyuba Drum Ensemble, Danse Danbala, and Prozac.


Kevin Hyde

Kevin is the musical director for the band and plays
piano, trombone, percussion, and vocals, as well as composer. Current and former bands include: Gunnison, Kevin Hyde Quartet, Carl Lindberg Quartet, Hyde-Lindberg-Patton Trio, Steve Dancz, Steak Dinner, Widespread Panic (select shows), UGA Brass Ensemble, and Squat.

Marlon Patton
Marlon is the recording engineer/co-producer for Grogus and plays drumset, timbales, percussion, upright bass, as well as composition. Current and former bands include: Heavy Mojo, Gunnison, Trey Wright Trio, Kevin Hyde Quartet, Carl Lindberg Quartet, Hyde-Lindberg-Patton Trio, Dave Bass Quartet, Squat, Sir Loin of Steak Dinner, Patton Productions, One Mic Studios (owner).

Constantino Garrido-Licha
Constantino provides graphic design, vocals, bongos, classical guitar, percussion, piano, and composition skills for the band. Current and former bands include: Tino Garrido (solo classical guitar), and Tropico.

Natalie Dickerson
Natalie provides flute, vocals, percussion, and piano for Grogus. Current and former bands include: UGA Salsa Band, Greenville Symphony Orchestra, UGA Symphony Orchestra, UGA Woodwind Quintet, Natalie Dickerson Quartet, and the Paul Kim Quartet.

Aramis Ferrer
Aramis plays guiro, bongos, percussion, vocals, and suavecito. He is also a member of the band Tropico.

Joel Byron
Joel plays tres, acoustic guitar, vocals, percussion, and upright bass. Current and former bands include: Bling the Children Back Home, Joel Byron & Carl Lindberg, Dawg Town Ramblers, Moyuba Drum Ensemble, and Danse Danbala.

Ryan “Manito” Wendel
Ryan handles drum fabrication/repair and is the folklore specialist for the band. He plays congas, bongos, cajon, percussion and vocals. Current and former bands include: Moyuba Drum Ensemble (leader), Tambou Fou, Danse Danbala, Two Fisted Cool, and Velvet Jones & the Sex Appeal.

Bassam Mussad
Bassam plays trumpet, vocals, and percussion.

Camilo Ochoa
Camilo plays trumpet, vocals, timbales, congas, percussion, piano, and composer. Current and former bands include: Tropico, Tamboriqua, and Tambogo.

Tommy Somerville
Tommy plays piano, saxophone, vocals, percussion, timbales, bongos, and charm. Current and fomer bands include: Squat, Bousfield, LOA, Ripe, and Prozac.

Trey Wright
Trey plays acoustic guitar, piano, and percussion. Current bands include Squat, Trey Wright Trio, and is a member of the Atlanta Institute of Music Faculty.

Darren Stanley
Darren plays drumset, timbales, and percussion. Other bands include: Squat and Love Tractor.

Dave Nelson
Dave plays trombone, vocals, percussion, guitar, and composer. Current and former bands include: Velvet Jones & The Sex Appeal, Two Fisted Cool, UGA Brass Ensemble, and the Macon Symphony Orchestra (principle trombone).

Kane Stanley
Kane plays Shekere (fabricator), congas, timbales, and drumset. Current and former bands include: Cosmic Charlie, Entropy, Reason:Biodynamics, Skleva, Moyuba Drum Ensemble, Danse Danbala, and Velvet Jones & the Sex Appeal.

  Dr. Tony McCutchen
Tony plays timbales, drumset, and percussion. Music endeavors include: UGA Percussion Department, UGA Salsa Band Director, Tropical Breeze Steel Band, (leader), and Prime Time Jazz.

 

Mike Jones
Mike plays tenor sax, soul, and composer for Grogus. Current and former bands include: Artie Ball Swing Band, Gunnison, Donkey, and the Legitimate Businessman’s Association (leader).
Steve Dancz
Steve plays piano, shekere, percussion, and vocals for the band. Other music endeavors and projects indlude UGA Jazz Department Head, Squat, and National Geographic Film Scoring.
