I recieved my new inspiron mini 9 and its great, but the battery charge is at 0%. i left it on charge for a few hours but still nothing. Obviously i contacted dell, and they are sending me a new charger in the post, but i dont see how that will help? the ac adaptor works fine as the netbook works fine when plugged into mains. any suggestions?

It may be a defective battery or a faulty charging circuit. I agree it doesn’t sound like a faulty charger.
You will have to adhere to Dells protocol so if the problem isn’t fixed get back to them. I assume they are sending you the least expensive repair option to begin with and hoping that will fix it
